A collaboration between photographer Nicola Bensley and artist David Dipré began during lockdown 2020.

As all else stood still around them, they began to develop a body of work combining their disciplines.

They quickly developed a visual language reworking the silver gelatin prints – painting, scratching and drawing into the photographic surface.

Their most recent work sees the camera turned on themselves. In these images they have created a dreamlike environment in which they explore perceptions of surface, space, time and representations of the human form.

Nicola studied at Newcastle Upon Tyne College of Arts & Technology and Harrow School of Art. She worked as a photojournalist before shifting her focus to portrait and fine art photography.

Nicola exhibits regularly in London and has won a number of awards for both her portrait and fine art work. Her work is held in collections on both sides of the Atlantic.
